Basic Obedience -

Thursday evenings for 7 weeks including enrolment night. This course is the mandatory pre requisite for all courses Gisborne Dog Training Club runs. You will learn to train in basic obedience, socialisation for your dog and learning to listen around other dogs and people. This is a self paced course and a foundation for all other courses that we run. Classes start at either 6pm or 6.45pm. $80 for the course.
Good Dog Basics -

An excellent course for those who have attended Basic Obedience and would like to concentrate on any aspect of your dog’s behaviour. Continues to help you keep your dog under control when walking past other dogs and adds to the skills you learned in Basic Obedience. Wednesday evenings for 7 weeks including enrolment night at 5.45pm, course cost is $60. Max 10 dogs
Foundation Agility - Enrolments Closed

Work with your dog through a course, build your bond stronger and give confidence to your dog. This course teaches you how to have fun with your dog and readies you to compete in Agility Shows around New Zealand. You must have completed the Basic Obedience Course; your dog is over 1 year of age and be able to be controlled off leash and focused on you. If you are not quite ready for this course, attendance at the Good Dog Basics Course is encouraged. Tuesday evenings for seven weeks including enrolment night. Minimum 3 dogs required to run. $80
Scentwork Imprinting - Enrolments Closed Check Back in Term 4
Teach your dog to become obedient to odour. This course is designed to imprint your dog with an odour so he/she can locate it for you. Learn to be patient with your dog, build a stronger relationship and start the journey towards a new and very popular dog sport in New Zealand. Once your dog has “imprinted” the odour, a more advanced class is available. 7 weeks. Minimum 6 dogs required to run the course. $80 for the course.
Scentwork 2 -

Continuation of Scentwork Imprinting Course. Working our way towards trialling in the September Scent Sports Association of NZ Gisborne Trial. Runs Monday nights at 6pm for eight weeks. After this course, there is room to progress on to a more advanced Scentwork group to continue to develop yours and your dogs skills. $40 per non club member per term, $30 per club member per term

We offer several levels of Agility Courses to fit with your aspirations and skill. Build confidence in your dog and compete at our Kings Birthday Weekend Show! $40 per non club member, $30 per club member and $25 per trainer/instructor per term

and public holiday weekends
We usually train in all weather, but cyclones, thunder and lightning and civil defense emergency weather events do disrupt our courses and change course commencement dates.
